On 17th May 2015 the roar of motorcycles will once again be echoing through the streets of Lichfield and the surrounding area as the third Stephen Sutton Ride Out takes to the road. The 26-mile journey will start at Lichfield Rugby Club riding through Tamworth, Alrewas and Kings Bromley. It will pass by The Bowling Green in Lichfield before arriving at the final destination of Chase Terrace Technology College, Burntwood.

BikersOrganised by Colin Jacques from the Millennium Group, this charity event first took place in 2013 in order to support Stephen Sutton’s objective of raising £10,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust, in the early days of his fund raising efforts. Of course, many of us were touched by Stephen’s courageous fight against cancer and inspired by the huge amount of money he ultimately raised for Teenage Cancer Trust before sadly passed away on 14th May 2014.

Colin promised Stephen the event would continue annually as part of his legacy and once again Raphael Design were approached to supply the raffle tickets plus promotional posters and leaflets to advertise the day. We, along with many local businesses were delighted to contribute towards such a worthy cause. As Colin says ‘The more businesses I can get to supply goods and services for free, the more money will be made from the event for Teenage Cancer Trust.’

To date over £14,000 has been raised from the two previous ride-outs. The team at Raphael Design wish The Friends of Stephen Sutton all the very best for this year’s event and hope they reach Colin’s goal of making it to £25,000 this year. Whatever the result, it is great to see that the dream of such a brave young man lives on.
